I think it's the context that helps too - Crimond staff - all of them from HT to lunch time staff and teachers are all committed and have developed a positive ethos within the school. But it is inspiring to visit. I took some students and a DHT from the school where I work on Friday and they were amazed!

This is an amazing post Juliet. With all that the children are engaging in now I can't help but think you might have the next Bear Grylls amongst them.

Actually we may well have the first Scottish astronaut. NASA wants adults who spent their childhoods tinkering, exploring and messing about with stuff - being up for experiments. Now that would be amazing.

Love, love LOVE this project Juliet! This type of loose parts play is all very new here in Australia and we are thrilled to be learning more about it through the 'Play fir LIfe Australia' team who are introducing the Play Pod pilot program into primary schools here in Victoria. It is posts like this that really excite us about being involved with them.

Oh what I'd give to have Michael Follet or Marc Armitage here in Australia!

Donna :) :)

Both guys are great advocates of play and we heavily involved in the original scrapstore project.

What interesting is the child-led enterprise approach here. The school continues to advertise for stuff and encouraged their parents during their open afternoon to have a look and play too.
